Dr. Simran Grewal

From a young age, Dr Simran Grewal has had a passion for health care and serving her community. She completed her Undergraduate degree in Life Sciences with distinction from Mcmaster University. She then went on to Aston University to complete her Optometry Degree, all the while gaining valuable clinical experience at the Oxford Eye Hospital and various highstreet practices.

She has completed an externship program in Hyderabad, India where she was able to observe a broad array of pathology within the Glaucoma, Cornea, Prosthetics, Retina and pediatric Clinics.

She has also volunteered in Ayacucho, Peru and Punjabi, India where she was able to work in health services, including primary clinics/eye camps in rural villages to tertiary clinics in Urbanized areas.

Dr Grewal is Board certified to practice Optometry in both the United Kingdom and Canada. She was practicing in her hometown of Mississauga, but is currently practicing in the city of Brampton where she is co-partner of Brampton Vision Centre.

Dr Grewal remains active in her community by serving as the Clinical Director for the vision sector of Special Olympics, where she has gained vast knowledge in working with youth and adults with physical and cognitive challenges.

She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, and when the need arises is able to perform examinations at Long term Care Facilities and Residential homes. Dr Grewal has special interests in ocular nutrition, dry eye treatment, myopia control and speciality contact lens fitting (including rigid gas permeable lenses and scleral lenses for Keratoconus.

She is an active member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.

Dr Grewal has a passion for outdoor activities- in her spare time she enjoys hiking, cycling and travelling - recently some of her travels have taken her to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro!
